The Advocate Group is partnering with a market-leading, fast-growing food business in search of an NPD Technologist.

As an NPD Technologist, you’ll play a vital role in turning product concepts into reality. Working closely with NPD Managers, technical teams, and production, you’ll help deliver exciting, high-quality food products for some of the UK’s best-known retailers — from premium brands to major discounters.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Supporting NPD projects across a wide product range
2. Coordinating and reporting on factory trials
3. Contributing to product improvements and solving development issues
4. Assisting with technical readiness and production handover
5. Managing documentation and quality checks during development
6. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including production, technical, food safety, and commercial

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Experience in food product development — ideally 12–18 months, including placements or internships
2. A relevant degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field
3. A strong interest in innovation, problem-solving, and fast-paced environments
4. Good communication skills and the confidence to work cross-functionally
5. Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive mindset
6. Basic knowledge of HACCP or food safety standards is a plus
