Job summary

McCormick Australia is seeking a Product Development Technologist for a 12-month contract based at Moorabbin Airport. You will lead NPD projects, work with cross-functional teams, and ensure products scale to full manufacturing.

The role requires 5+ years in FMCG R&D, knowledge of FSANZ regulations, and experience with Seasonings, Marinades, Coating Systems, and Wet Condiments. You will collaborate with Engineering and Operations to plan production trials and drive product quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant R&D experience within FMCG manufacturing environments.
• Strong technical and hands-on manufacturing expertise across Seasonings, Marinades, Coating Systems and Wet Condiments.
• Demonstrated passion for problem-solving, with the ability to think creatively, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver practical, innovative technical solutions.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, building strong and meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project management applications; SAP experience highly regarded.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FSANZ regulations and their application within product development and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive customer engagement to shape, refine, and deliver New Product Development (NPD) project briefs aligned to business and customer requirements.
• Lead end-to-end NPD projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and designed for successful scale-up to full manufacturing.
• Lead end-to-end product development activities to execute in-house productivity projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders through project forums, providing technical input into costings, product specifications, artwork approvals, trials, and commercialization documentation.
• Partner closely with Engineering and Operations to plan and execute production trials through to full commercial manufacture.
• Lead and/or support factory troubleshooting activities to ensure product quality, process stability, and efficient issue resolution.
