Job summary

Dr Newitt is partnering with a well-established UK food manufacturer to recruit a motivated Food Technologist (NPD). This entry-level position offers exposure to the full product development lifecycle from concept to launch.

You'll work within a collaborative NPD team on new and existing products, conducting factory trials, market benchmarking and trend analysis, with mentoring from experienced professionals and clear progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or related discipline.
• Industry placement year within food manufacturing, or 1-3 years' experience in an NPD, Product Development, Process or Technical role.
• Strong interest in food innovation and consumer trends.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of new products from concept through to commercial launch.
• Assist in managing customer briefs and development projects.
• Prepare samples for customer presentations and internal reviews.
• Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking and trend analysis.
• Organise and support factory trials and production scale-ups.
• Maintain accurate product specifications and development documentation.
• Work closely with Technical, Production, Procurement and Commercial teams.
• Monitor emerging food trends and identify innovation opportunities.
• Support customer meetings and product presentations.
• Assist with continuous improvement and innovation projects.
