Job summary

Finsbury Foods is seeking an NPD Buyer to source ingredients, raw materials and packaging for new product development. You’ll work with NPD teams to understand requirements, obtain samples and quotations, and ensure materials meet quality and regulatory standards.

You will manage supplier relationships, benchmark costs, analyze pricing structures and negotiate around pricing, lead times and MOQs, while supporting sustainability and ethical sourcing.

Qualifications

• ,Experience in procurement, supply chain or food manufacturing.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisational and project coordination abilities.
• Ability to interpret technical information and specs.
• Strong communication skills with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Results-focused with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG procurement.
• Knowledge of NPD processes and stage-gate methodology.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems.
• Understanding of packaging materials and food production environments.
• Experience supporting supplier onboarding and approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Source ingredients, raw materials and packaging for new products.
• Collaborate with NPD teams to understand product requirements, identify suitable suppliers and obtain samples and quotations.
• Ensure all materials meet quality, technical and regulatory requirements.
• Provide procurement expertise, prepare accurate costings, assess feasibility and identify supply risks.
• Work with Technical, Operations and Supply Chain colleagues to scale up and launch products on schedule.
• Develop supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times and MOQs.
• Maintain accurate product and supplier data and monitor project progress.
• Support sustainability, compliance and ethical sourcing initiatives.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and sourcing strategies for innovation and efficiency.
