Job summary

MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading FMCG business to recruit a Development Technologist. This permanent role is based in Somerset and will own product concepts from brief through to launch, collaborating with customers and internal teams.

The role focuses on turning briefs into working recipes, hands-on concept development, and ensuring compliance with codes of practice and nutrition targets. Strong Excel/IT skills and a proactive, communicative mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a food-related qualification or degree.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• HACCP L2/3 qualification or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead the NPD concept and recipe development stage, working with customers to understand the brief.
• Manage kitchen equipment, ingredients and stock for sample preparation.
• Build and maintain new product files, including initial project and Epic/EPD information.
• Ensure recipes meet customer codes of practice and nutritional targets.
• Support complaint investigations where formulation may be a contributing factor.
