Job summary

TPF Recruitment is assisting a Kent-based Chartered Accountants firm in recruiting a Not-for-Profit Audit Director or Partner. The role focuses on leading charity and not-for-profit audits, advising governance bodies, and driving growth in a collaborative, supportive culture with flexible hybrid working.

The successful candidate will oversee audit planning, ensure quality, and develop managers while expanding the not-for-profit service across Kent, London, and the South East.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification required.
• Extensive experience leading charity and not-for-profit audits in practice.
• Responsible Individual status or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead a substantial portfolio of charity, academy, and not-for-profit audit clients.
• Advise trustees, finance directors, chief executives and governing bodies.
• Oversee audit planning, delivery, and quality control across the portfolio.
• Provide technical expertise on charity accounting and audit matters.
• Support and develop managers and senior audit team members.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand the not-for-profit offering.
• Play an active role in business development, networking, and client relationship management.
• Collaborate with partners to drive growth of the service line.

The Role

As a Not for Profit Audit Director, you will:

• Lead a substantial portfolio of charity, academy, and not for profit audit clients
• Act as a trusted adviser to trustees, finance directors, chief executives, and governing bodies
• Oversee audit planning, delivery, and quality control across the portfolio
• Provide technical expertise on charity accounting and audit matters
• Support and develop managers and senior members of the audit team
• Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand the firm's not for profit offering
• Play an active role in business development, networking, and client relationship management
• Work closely with the partners to help drive the continued growth of the service line

Requirements

• Be ACA or ACCA qualified
• Have extensive experience managing and leading charity and not for profit audits within practice
• Hold Responsible Individual status or be working towards obtaining it
• Possess strong technical knowledge of charity accounting regulations and auditing standards
• Have excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
