Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling is seeking a Non Ferrous Buyer to join the Preston team. The role focuses on purchasing ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals, with emphasis on accurate grading and safety.

The position is based at our Metal Recycling Park in Preston, offering hands-on responsibilities within a family-run, sustainability-driven business. You will interact with customers and the public, ensure correct stock handling, and travel to nationwide sites if required.

Qualifications

• Experience in grading different metals.
• Scrap metal experience is essential.
• Enjoy working with customers and the public.
• FLT driving experience is required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Identify and purchase ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals.
• Sort non-ferrous metals into correct grades as directed by manager.
• Deal with customers and members of the public following company guidelines.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and keep your area clean.

The Role:

We are looking to recruit a Non Ferrous Buyer with Non-Ferrous knowledge to join our established team based at our Metal Recycling Park in Preston.

What you will be doing:

• Follow company policy to identify and purchase ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals
• Sort non-ferrous metals into correct grades as directed by non-ferrous manager
• Deal with customers and members of the public following company guidelines and customer service guidelines
• Ensure stock is sorted and weighed correctly as directed by non-ferrous manager
• Work with batteries, catalytic converter as well as non ferrous
• To adhere to all Health and Safety procedures
• To keep the area you are working in clean and tidy
• Any other duties as required
• General housekeeping duties
• FLT duties
• Travel to nationwide sites if / when required
