Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is seeking an experienced Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join a Prison Service team in Stockton-on-Tees. This role is ideal for a Nurse or Pharmacist Prescriber supporting individuals in custody with complex health and substance misuse needs.

You will perform clinical assessments, diagnose, and prescribe in line with NICE guidelines. The role supports detoxification and opiate substitution therapy (OST) and requires collaboration with the multidisciplinary team while

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Pharmacist with a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) qualification.
• Experience in substance misuse, offender health, or primary care.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessments, diagnoses, and prescribe treatments for substance misuse and mental health needs.
• Deliver safe prescribing in line with NICE and service guidelines.
• Support detoxification and OST programmes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to governance, safeguarding, and risk management within the service.
