Job summary

Fowler Welch in Newton Abbot is hiring Nightshift Warehouse Operatives to join our busy retail logistics team. This full‑time, permanent role covers Friday to Tuesday nights from 21:00 to 07:00 in a chilled environment, helping keep stock moving safely and accurately in a fast‑paced operation.

You’ll work to clear targets, complete inbound/outbound paperwork, report faults, and ensure loads are secured. We offer overtime rates and a benefits package including healthcare and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Recent warehouse experience in a fast‑paced environment is an advantage.
• Able to work to clear targets and KPI’s with strong performance.
• Comfortable working in a chilled warehouse environment.
• Strong verbal communication and numerical accuracy.
• Reliable, hardworking and committed to doing the job well.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload product strictly in line with Company policies and procedures.
• Complete correct documentation for inbound and dispatch loads.
• Report trailer or MHE faults and ensure VOR vehicles are placed correctly.
• Remain vigilant to ensure goods are picked and assembled accurately as per instructions.
• Ensure dispatched loads are properly secured prior to leaving the loading bay.
• Reach and maintain productivity targets set by the Company.
• Carry out safety procedures in line with Health & Safety policy, SSOWs and HACCP, and challenge non‑compliant colleagues.
• Receive and notify Stock Controller of customer returns.

We have a fantastic opportunity for Nightshift Warehouse Operatives to join our Newton Abbott team, supporting key retail warehouse operations in a fast‑paced, modern environment. This is a hands‑on role where you will play an important part in keeping stock moving accurately, safely and efficiently while being part of a reliable and supportive team.

This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity working Friday to Tuesday Nights between 21:00 and 07:00.

The role is based in a chilled warehouse environment, so you will need to be comfortable working in temperatures of around 3 degrees.

• Between £12.71 – £19.86 per hour depending on shift

What you’ll be doing:

• Ensure you load/unload product strictly in line with the Company's policies and procedures.
• Ensure the correct documentation is completed for all inbound and dispatch loads.
• Report any trailer or MHE faults in line with Company procedures and ensure VOR vehicles are placed in the designated areas.
• Remain vigilant in ensuring goods are picked and assembled accurately as per instructions.
• Ensure dispatched loads are properly secured prior to leaving the loading bay.
• Reach and maintain the standards required to meet the Company's productivity targets.
• Ensure all practices and procedures are safely carried out in line with the Company’s Health & Safety policy, SSOWs and HACCP regulations, where appropriate, and challenge colleagues who fail to adhere to any such rules or regulations.
• Ensure customer returns are received, recorded and notified to the appropriate Stock Controller.
