Job summary

Holt Engineering in Wimborne, Dorset, is seeking an experienced Nightshift Quality Inspector to join a precision engineering team. You will carry out First Off, Patrol, Last Off, and 100% inspections, perform First Article Inspections (FAI), and interpret complex engineering drawings with inspection equipment, including CMMs where applicable.

This permanent nightshift position offers a 37.5-hour week (Mon–Wed) with overtime on Thursdays and exposure to high-value aerospace/defence components

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector in precision engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong engineering drawing and dimensional inspection skills.
• Experience with First Off / Last Off / First Principle Inspection.
• Experience in aerospace/defence or other highly regulated environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out First Off, Patrol, Last Off and 100% inspection.
• Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) and documentation.
• Inspect complex precision-machined components against drawings.
• Read and interpret drawings, tolerances and specifications.
• Identify and report non-conforming products and raise NCRs.
• Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
• Work with CNC machinists to resolve quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement and uphold high quality standards.
