Job summary

Safran Nacelles in Burnley is seeking a Nightshift Hand Tool Operator to perform hand routing and finishing on aerospace components. You will work within the night production team, producing high-quality parts safely and right first time, with initial training on days followed by permanent night shifts.

The role involves setting up and using hand tools, inspecting work, and contributing to continuous improvement while adhering to health, safety and quality standards.

) to recruit for a Nightshift Hand Tool Operator at their site in Burnley

Role Overview:

Working as part of the nightshift production team the

Hand Tool Operators role primarily involves carrying out hand routing and material finishing operations on composite and metallic aerospace components.

Hand Tool Operator plays a key role in supporting these objectives by producing high-quality aerospace components safely, efficiently, and right first time

Rates:

Night Shift pays £22.09 *plus £2.47 holiday pay per hour* (£24.56 per hour in total) PAYE or £29.36 per hour Umbrella

Shift Pattern / Working Hours:

4 weeks training on days (£16.99 per hour whilst on days) then moving onto permanent night shift *Nights is 8pm – 6am Monday to Wednesday then 8pm – 5am Thursday*

Duties:

• Perform hand routing, trimming, drilling, sanding, and finishing operations on composite and metallic components.

Work with materials including:

• Aluminium
• Steel

• Set up, adjust, and operate machining equipment, tooling, fixtures, and templates.
• Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
• Work to approved work instructions, engineering drawings, specifications, templates, and fixtures.
• Conduct in-process inspections using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Ensure all products conform to customer, engineering, and quality requirements.
• Accurately complete production documentation and manufacturing records.
• Support continuous improvement and right-first-time manufacturing initiatives.
• Follow all company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance
• equipment safely and responsibly with 5S standards.
• Support colleagues and share best practice across manufacturing areas.
• Contribute positively to team Identify and escape any risks, hazards, quality concerns, or safety issues relating to product, process, or people using company reporting tools and processes.
• Participate in risk assessments, safety observations, and continuous improvement activities.
• Work collaboratively as part of the Composite & Sheet performance, productivity, and delivery targets.
• Participate in training and skills development activities as required.
