Job summary

Purovets in Bristol is seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon for a part-time, out-of-hours role in a modern small animal hospital. You’ll deliver emergency and critical care from 8pm to 9am, with one in three weeks and two weeks off between shifts.

The package includes funded CPD and postgraduate qualifications, RCVS/VDS fees paid, a health cash plan, wellbeing support, and staff pet-care discounts, creating a supportive environment for an experienced vet with 3–5+ years’ small animal experience.

Qualifications

• Experienced small animal veterinary surgeon.
• 3–5+ years’ experience in emergency/small animal practice.
• Confident in managing emergency medical and surgical cases independently.
• Strong communication and client care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide OOH emergency and critical care from 8pm–9am.
• Handle emergency consultations, investigations, and surgeries.
• Inpatient care including exotic patients and case transfers.
• Make clinical decisions and manage patients autonomously.
