Job summary

DPD UK is looking for a Yard Operative to support efficient and safe movement of trailers and tugs within a busy yard. The role requires a Class 1 LGV Licence (C+E) and a CPC, and involves night shifts across five of seven days. You will work in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety standards and delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• The role requires working in a fast-paced yard environment with safety as a top priority.
• Experience in a similar yard/ logistics role is desirable.
• Holding a Class 1 LGV Licence (C+E) and CPC is essential.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers and tugs safely through the yard.
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and regulations.
• Ensure training is applied and act as a safety ambassador.
• Report damage, unsafe parking, and near-miss events to the line manager.
• Communicate effectively via radio or other channels.
