Job summary

Culina, the UK's leading independent specialist supply chain partner, is hiring a Shift Manager for our 24/7 Transport operations within the Contract Logistics division. You will supervise Transport Supervisors and support the Transport Manager to keep costs in line with budget and forecast.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in a busy transport environment.
• Strong knowledge of transport operations and budgeting.
• Ability to plan resources and manage shifts.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience with rostering systems and shift planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage depot transport staff to meet service levels.
• Minimise non-contract maintenance and damage through checks.
• Ensure fleet is on the road and declared to Planning Team.
• Plan resource and agency driver rosters weekly.
• Oversee driver holidays to meet customer needs.
• Develop and coach the transport team.
• Ensure staff fully trained and equipped.
• Handle incidents and investigations.
• Monitor drivers clocking via Kronos.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and procedures.
• Ensure timely MOTs and service for fleet.
• Attend monthly customer review meetings.
• Support service improvements with customers.
• Drive continuous improvement ideas.
• Maintain a safe environment.
• Conduct monthly site audits.
