Job summary

XPO is recruiting for a Transport Shift Manager to lead the night operation on the Arla dairy contract in Hatfield. You will manage driver planning, ensure safe and efficient transport, and work across a large, fast-paced network on a 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong knowledge of transport regulations, and the ability to motivate teams to deliver service excellence and cost control.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or management experience in a complex transport operation.
• Strong knowledge of driving compliance and related regulations.
• Ability to lead drivers and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day driver planning with resource optimisation.
• Collaborate across the XPO network to maximise service.
• Ensure drivers comply with EU and working time regulations.
• Oversee servicing plans and defect control compliance.
• Conduct RCA sessions when required.
• Lead teams to meet service, productivity and fuel KPI targets.
• Support the Operations Manager and engage with customers as needed.
