Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd is recruiting for a night transport operator role within a successful haulage business. This permanent position offers development opportunities and a competitive salary with progression potential.

The candidate should have at least one year of industry experience and be capable of handling deliveries, communicating with drivers and customers, and working under pressure in a busy transport office.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• An understanding of compliance within the transport industry.
• Ability to build positive working relations with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Must be IT literate (Including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel).
• The ability to work under pressure within a busy transport office.
• Experience in an operational role in a logistics or haulage business.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact if there is an issue with deliveries.
• Deal with delivery issues and chasing down any failures/concerns.
• Deal with inbound and outbound calls.
• Running your own trucks making sure drivers have the correct information.
• Update relevant systems and ensure drivers have correct pins.
• Working as part of a team to reduce company downtime.
• Develop a strong relationship and good rapport over the telephone with customers and contractors.
