Job summary

Queens View Harbour Care Home in Troon seeks a Team Leader to guide daily care delivery, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality, person-centred support. You will work with nursing and management to maintain standards and improve practice.

You will oversee shifts, care planning, medication administration, and documentation, promoting respectful, compassionate care while aligning with regulatory requirements and organisational expectations.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is required.
• Medication administration training with competency.
• Experience leading or supporting a care team.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and supervise care staff to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
• Coordinate and monitor care delivery, including care planning and documentation.
• Oversee medication administration and risk management in line with regulatory standards.
• Promote best practices and support staff development and audits/reviews.

Renowned as the most luxurious care facility in Troon, Queens View Harbour Care Home proudly offers exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 56 residents. With an outstanding carehome.co.uk rating of 9.8 and Care Inspectorate grades of 5, 4, 5, 5, and 4, the home is committed to delivering the highest standards of care and comfort.

• £15.00 per hour
• Contracted to 22 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Team Leader, you will play a key role in the day to day leadership and delivery of care within the home, ensuring residents receive safe, high quality and person centred support at all times. Working alongside the nursing and management team, you will help maintain standards, support compliance and ensure best practice is consistently followed.

You will lead shifts, supervise and support care staff, and take responsibility for the coordination of care delivery. This includes overseeing care planning, medication administration, documentation and risk management, ensuring all practices align with regulatory requirements and organisational standards.

You will act as a role model within the team, promoting positive working practices, supporting staff development and ensuring a culture of respect, dignity and accountability. You will also contribute to audits, reviews and continuous improvement, helping to maintain a well run and high performing service.
