Job summary

Trapeze Recruitment Services Ltd seeks a highly organised logistics professional to plan and manage time-critical shipments across Europe and beyond. You will operate on 12-hour night shifts (7.00pm–7.00am) with alternating or permanent schedules, ensuring schedules and deadlines are met.

The role requires excellent communication, strong customer service, and proven IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook). Training provided to develop carrier negotiation and transporter management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with international carriers to discuss transport costs and best-fit solutions.
• Tender job revenues to clients, offering different transport options.
• Monitor transport progression and update clients at milestones.
• Ensure the transport management system is accurately monitored.
• Build relationships with multinational clients under pressure.
• Answer calls professionally and handle inquiries quickly.

Job description

If you're highly organised, possess good IT skills and can work well under pressure, this role may suit you.

You will receive full training enabling you to plan and manage time-critical logistics solutions throughout Europe and worldwide. You will operate within strict time constraints, ensuring all schedules and deadlines are met. Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential as is the eagerness to learn.

This is a night shift role requiring you to work 12-hour shifts (7.00pm-7.00am).

Hours available as follows:

• Alternating Monday to Thursday / Tuesday to Friday
• Permanent Monday to Thursday
• Permanent Tuesday to Friday

General duties to include:

• Liaise with international carriers to agree transport costs and ensure the best possible solutions are found to fit the client’s requirements
• Tender job revenues to clients, ensuring a bespoke solution is found for them, best fitting their request and offering different transport solutions where applicable
• Monitor the progression of transports, advising the client at agreed milestones and ensuring the transports are running to schedule
• Ensure the bespoke transportation management system is correctly monitored and updated when required
• Build excellent relationships with multinational clients who are under immense pressure
• Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and deal with enquiries quickly

Key Skills and Experience:

• Logistics experience would be extremely beneficial but not essential as full training is given
• Must possess excellent organisation and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to prioritise tasks often within a high-pressured environment
• Extremely focused with the desire to succeed and provide an exceptional level of service at all time
• Strong IT skills – Word, Excel and Outlook experience are essential.
