Job summary

Lawrence Dean Recruitment is supporting a Biggleswade-based distribution company to hire a Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver for an evening shift. The role pays £15.00 per hour, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 16:00–01:00, with a temporary-to-permanent pathway and immediate start.

The duties include picking, packing and preparing orders while operating a Counterbalance forklift as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid, in-date Counterbalance forklift licence is essential
• Experience in warehouse picking/packing
• Reliable with good timekeeping and attention to detail
• Ability to use forklift as required

Warehouse Operative Counterbalance Forklift Driver Evening Shift

Biggleswade £15.00 per hour Monday to Friday | 4:00pm − 1:00am 40 Hours per Week | Temporary to Permanent | Immediate Start

Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative with a valid Counterbalance Forklift licence? Are you looking for an evening shift offering £15.00 per hour and the opportunity to secure a permanent position?

Our client, a well established distribution company based in Biggleswade, is looking for Warehouse Operatives / Counterbalance Forklift Drivers to join their busy warehouse team on a temporary to permanent basis.

This is predominantly a picking and packing role, with some forklift driving involved. We're looking for hardworking, reliable candidates who are happy to get stuck into general warehouse duties rather than solely operating a forklift.

About the Role

As a Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver, you'll be responsible for accurately picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch, alongside operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck when required.

Please note: Successful candidates will be required to complete their first couple of weeks on the day shift (7:00am − 4:00pm) to undertake training and assessments before moving onto the evening shift.

What You Will Be Doing

• Picking and packing customer orders accurately
• Preparing goods for dispatch
• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck when required

• Checking orders and ensuring picking accuracy
• Carrying out manual handling and lifting duties

Skills & Experience Required

• Valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence/certificate is essential − you must hold your own licence
• Previous Counterbalance Forklift driving experience
• Previous warehouse, picking or packing experience
• Happy to undertake predominantly picking and packing duties rather than solely forklift driving
• Articulated Forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential
• Comfortable with manual handling and physical warehouse work
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Reliable with excellent timekeeping
• Able to work efficiently within a busy warehouse
• Must be available for initial training on day shifts
• Available for an immediate start
