Job summary

Smiths News plc is seeking an Operations Team Leader for a 35 hours/week night shift on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The role is based in the UK with salary of £27,354.60 per year and includes clear responsibilities to lead a warehouse team, drive efficiency and safety.

You will oversee training, attendance/performance monitoring, and day-to-day leadership to keep operations running smoothly in a fast-paced environment. UK right to work is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced warehouse management.
• Experience managing large operations and liaising at all levels.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience planning and executing warehouse operations; adapt to issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a dedicated warehouse team to ensure smooth, safe and efficient operations.
• Lead training sessions, monitor attendance and performance, and drive improvements.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and effective communications between team members and management.
• Motivate and develop the team to achieve targets, productivity, and safety.
