Job summary

XPO TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS UK LIMITED is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Workshop Supervisor in Leicester to lead a busy workshop on a 4 on 4 off night shift. You will report to the Workshop Manager and drive safe, efficient maintenance with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities include planning workloads, MOT prep, parts control, and supervising technicians while upholding QHSE standards and coordinating with external contractors when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining commercial vehicles and conducting service inspections.
• Previous supervisory role in a workshop environment with staff management.
• Knowledge of operator licensing and relevant legislation.
• Experience coordinating with suppliers and external contractors.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, and IT system usage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations, workload planning and technician productivity.
• Ensure high-quality maintenance and repair work, including MOT preparation.
• Manage job cards and service schedules.
• Control parts spend, ordering and justification.
• Deputise for the Workshop Manager when required.
• Ensure warranty work is captured and processed correctly.
• Oversee QHSE best practice and compliance with legislation.
• Handle breakdowns and external sub-contracting when necessary.
• Manage absence processes, return-to-work interviews, and day-to-day people supervision.
