Job summary

OCS is seeking a Train Cleaner Team Leader to oversee a team of cleaners responsible for the cleaning of trains. The role requires effective leadership, supervision of day-to-day cleaning tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

You will manage scheduling, training, and reporting while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and a positive passenger experience. Night shifts are part of the pattern, with hours from 21:00 to 05:00 and two days off per week.

Qualifications

• Must have right to work in the UK.
• Proven supervisory experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment and techniques.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of train cleaners, including scheduling and task assignment.
• Oversee cleaning of train interiors and exteriors to company standards.
• Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
• Train new team members on procedures and safety protocols.
• Ensure safety guidelines are followed and PPE is used correctly.
• Maintain records of cleaning activities and incidents, and report to Facilities Manager.
• Collaborate with other departments to address cleanliness-related customer feedback.
