Job summary

DHL Supply Chain at Manchester Piccadilly Station is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to oversee a key rail operation, ensuring trains are serviced safely and on schedule. A small team will be supported to coordinate daily activities and maintain high service standards in a busy transport environment.

Typical duties include supervising night shift activities, overseeing train unloading/re-loading, keeping records, and liaising with drivers to support departures.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising or supporting colleagues within logistics, transport or warehouse environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly and build positive working relationships.
• Ability to organise workloads, monitor progress and maintain records.
• Comfortable working in a changing environment and responding to priorities.
• Knowledge of audit, compliance or reporting processes; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervising night shift activities, allocating work and supporting colleagues to complete tasks safely and on time.
• Overseeing unloading and re-loading activities, including waste removal and replenishment of onboard catering products.
• Maintaining operational records, monitoring service requirements and liaising with Avanti and DHL drivers to support train departures.
• Holding team briefings, promoting safe working practices and identifying opportunities to improve ways of working.

Pay Rate: £29,425.50 + Night Shift Allowance
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Any 5 from 7 (Weekdays and weekends included) Between 22:00-05:30
