Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a freelance Site Engineer for a night‑shift highways project in Hampshire. You will help deliver a sign renewal scheme, including surveys, setting out and the installation of around 50 new signs, with governance on safety and coordination with the project team.

The role requires live highway experience, night-shift readiness, and strong surveying/utility exposure (GPR, PAS128). Contract runs November to April 2027, via Freelance CIS or LTD through Carrington West.

Qualifications

• Experience on live highways/civils projects.
• Comfortable working night shifts.
• Ability to set out and survey sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site investigation and installation works.
• Conduct topographical surveys and establish site extents.
• Perform GPR surveys and utility mapping.
• Identify and verify underground services.
• Set out and support installation of new traffic signage.
• Ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
