Arriva Rail London Ltd in Eastleigh is seeking a Shift Fitter to cover night shifts at Eastleigh Train Depot. The role focuses on efficient maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to required standards, with opportunities to interface with IT systems and to raise safety-related issues.

You will work under the Team Leader, interpret drawings, and carry out tasks within set timescales while complying with health, safety and environmental rules.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Rail Engineering preferred.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental standards.
• Experience in rail vehicle maintenance activities preferred.
• Understanding of depot operations.

Responsabilités

• Carry out work allocated by Team Leader within set timescales to recognised standards.
• Operate rail vehicles as required within depot operating limits and procedures.
• Adhere to safety procedures and documents in accordance with instruction.
• Sign work sheets promptly on completion of tasks.
• Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings and take necessary action.
• Assist Team Leader to ensure rolling stock availability and reliability targets.
