Job summary

Alexander Steele Recruitment is recruiting a Production Manager for a fast-paced FMCG manufacturer based in West Yorkshire. You will own the night-shift production operation and lead a team of 25–30 colleagues to hit safety, quality and output targets.

You will act as the on-shift operational decision-maker, drive continuous improvement, maintain strong cross-functional handovers with Engineering, Quality and Warehouse, and foster a high-performance, health-and-safety focused culture.

Qualifications

• Experience managing production teams within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
• Hands-on leader capable of owning an operation, making decisions independently, and upholding health & safety, quality and performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the production operation throughout the night shift, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency and output targets are achieved.
• Lead and develop a team of 25–30 production employees, creating a positive, accountable and high-performing culture.
• Act as the key operational decision-maker on shift, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
• Monitor performance across production, waste, downtime, quality and labour.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and other departments to maintain smooth operations.
• Drive continuous improvement and consistently look for opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure strong communication and effective handovers between shifts.
