Job summary

Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Tennessee is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Float Pool. The role involves direct patient care and assisting registered nurses with ADLs, under supervision. Night shifts and full-time hours are offered.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with mobility, basic care, and ensuring patient safety. The position requires CPR certification and may involve phlebotomy and EKG tasks with proper training.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
• Encourage patients to turn, cough, and take deep breaths and to use incentive spirometry as specified by Plan of Care.
• Ambulate, and assist patients in and out of bed, into wheelchairs and transport when necessary.
• Provides morning or evening care, including bed bath, oral hygiene, hair care, dressing, and linen changes.
• Collect urine, stool and sputum specimen as ordered.
