Key tasks include glazing, edging, mounting lenses, reading lens specs, assembling frames with hand edge machines and performing final quality inspections. Night shift work requires strong attention to detail and health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in glazing, optical manufacturing or similar production environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work to quality and productivity targets.
• Comfortable working independently on a night shift.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Glazing, fitting, edging, blocking and mounting lenses.
• Reading and interpreting lens and frame specifications.
• Edging and assembling frames using hand edge machines.
• Carrying out tracing, marking, blocking, edging and mounting.
• Rimless glazing where required.
• Completing repairs and adjustments.
• Carrying out final quality inspections.
• Prioritising urgent customer orders.
• Maintaining productivity and quality targets.
• Operating machinery safely and reporting any faults.
• Completing clear handovers to the day team.
