Position: Night Shift Maintenance Lead Technician

Salary: £61,019, Generous annual leave offering of 22.5 days, plus bank holidays

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as a Maintenance Lead Technician.

About the Role

The role is based at our Mount Pleasant Mail Centre. During the role, you'll ensure that all relevant Health & Safety (H&S) Policy and guidelines are adhered to by maintenance teams whilst under their leadership.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for providing proactive technical leadership, guidance, and support for all engineering automation issues within the Mail Centre catchment area. You'll ensure engineering maintenance is completed to defined standards and is delivered by a competent engineering workforce in a cost-effective manner.

You'll possess the ability to lead and co-ordinate the implementation of maintenance techniques to ensure that asset performance and reliability are achieved. In doing so, you'll provide the Shift Manager with technical assistance and guidance on maintenance standards. You'll provide and deliver technical training, coaching, and development to the engineering maintenance team.

About You

To truly excel in this role, you will possess, and be able to evidence, the skills and experience listed below:

  1. Extensive background in automation engineering and maintenance
  2. Hold an Engineering qualification
  3. Comfortable providing technical leadership, guidance, and support to a large team
  4. Able to offer technical direction to senior stakeholders in the wider business
  5. Willing to complete an ILM coaching course when in the role
  6. Must hold a full UK Driving License
  7. Time served Engineering apprenticeship
  8. Engineering electrical qualification to HCN level or equivalent
