Job summary

Greencore is recruiting for a night shift operator at Selby to run the SMI packing line and related equipment from 6pm to 6am, with a six-week rotation after initial period.

Starting pay is £18.07 per hour, rising to £18.54 after training. Overtime applies after 36 hours per week at time and a quarter. The role requires machinery experience and a focus on safety and quality, with comprehensive training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working with machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Comply with Health and Safety and Food Safety standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork under pressure.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment producing quality and safe products.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Open to working in a production environment with varying temperatures.
• Positive attitude and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient running of the SMI and associated equipment (logopak, spice capper, top tagger, video, pallet stacking).
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues (mechanical and procedural).
• Liaise with Area Process Leaders, Line Coordinators, Engineers and Shift Managers.
• Ensure correct glass and caps on the line; assist in capper changeovers.
• Maintain safety, quality, and Right First Time ethos.
• Troubleshoot and sustain line efficiencies with mechanical and procedural knowledge.
• Work alongside QA and assist with data capture.
• Resolve minor issues and assist with training of new staff.
