Job summary

The Russell Taylor Group is seeking an experienced HGV Night Shift Technician to join our Ipswich workshop. You will service, diagnose and repair a range of commercial vehicles during a permanent night shift, with a Tuesday–Friday pattern from 7:30pm to 7:00am.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience as HGV Technician or similar (truck/commercial).
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults on commercial vehicles.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults.
• Complete scheduled safety inspections and identify additional repairs.
• Repair and replace faulty components and vehicle parts.
• Work on mechanical, electrical and vehicle subsystem faults.
• Follow the repair process from initial fault diagnosis to completion.
• Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and within timescales.
• Support other Technicians within the workshop as required.
• Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and vehicle safety.
