Job summary

Aligra in the Southampton area is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 driver for night-shift work. You will operate long-distance routes between regional hubs, delivering and collecting parcels while following schedules and maintaining vehicle safety.

This role offers enhanced pay for weekends, overtime, and bank holidays, plus a supportive driver team and regular communication. A valid HGV Class 1 licence and at least 1 year of similar experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently on night-time routes.
• Follow detailed routing and scheduling to ensure timely parcel delivery and collection between hubs.
• Manage loading, securing, and occasional unloading of freight including pallets, cages, and containers.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and complete defect reports as required.
• Handle shipment paperwork, scan consignments, and maintain communication with dispatch teams.
• Adhere to all relevant road safety and company policies to ensure compliance and safety.
