Job summary

Aligra Andover in the Leeds area is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 driver for a night shift role. You will operate long-distance routes between regional hubs, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.

The role offers enhanced night rates, weekend/overtime premiums and a supportive team with regular dispatch updates. You will be responsible for loading, securing freight, and completing daily vehicle checks.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence and clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year heavy goods driving experience.
• Ability to work night shifts reliably.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently on scheduled night-time routes.
• Follow detailed routing and Scheduling to ensure timely parcel delivery and collection between hubs.
• Manage loading, securing, and occasional unloading of freight including pallets, cages, and containers.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and complete defect reports as required.
• Handle shipment paperwork, scan consignments accurately, and maintain communication with dispatch teams.
• Adhere to all relevant road safety and company policies to ensure compliance and safety.
