Job summary

Great Bear is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for a permanent, full-time position at our Worksop site within a 24/7 operation. You will deliver to Regional Distribution Centres nationwide, with start times in the afternoon and a night shift allowance.

Expect a friendly, supportive team and comprehensive benefits as part of Culina Group. The role requires a valid C+E licence, DCPC and Tachograph cards, and a good grasp of Driver's Hours.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence is required.
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 experience preferred; new passes not accepted.
• No more than 6 points; no DD/DR convictions.
• Current DCPC and Tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of Driver's Hours and Working Time Directive.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) nationwide.
• Occasional night out may be required.
• Report delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies promptly to the Transport team.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned.
• Follow company rules including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage working time in line with tachograph rules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Take responsibility for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
