Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for a Monday–Friday night shift in Skelmersdale. This permanent full-time role operates 52.5 hours weekly with a night allowance and overtime.

Responsibilities include safe palletised deliveries to regional distribution centres nationwide, with occasional night outs. Apply now to join a customer-focused transport team.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence.
• Min 12 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points; no DD/DR convictions.
• Current DCPC and Tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of Driver’s Hours & Working Time Directive.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, often backdoor tip.
• Occasional night out may be required.
• Report delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies to Transport team at shift start.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed.
• Follow company health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Adhere to tachograph rules and Road Transport Directive.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Take responsibility for unit and trailer including temperature checks.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, appearance and customer service.
