Job summary

Major Recruitment Huddersfield is seeking a reliable Night Shift Operative to join our site. You will start with day-shift training for 2–3 weeks before moving to the permanent night shift, working 12-hour nights from Monday to Thursday.

The role requires an active FLT/counterbalance licence, reliability, and a proactive attitude. You will operate machinery, move materials, and support the team to maintain safety and efficiency during night operations.

Job description

Pay: £14.65 per hour

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 6:00pm - 6:00am

Training: Initial training will take place on day shifts, with hours to be confirmed.

Overtime Pay: Time and a half for the final 8 hours of the shift, subject to completing a full working week.

Bonus: Up to £2,000 per year, subject to scheme criteria.

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated and hardworking Night Shift Operative to join our team.

The successful candidate will work on a day shift for 2-3 weeks to complete training and become familiar with the site, machinery and working procedures before moving onto the permanent night shift. Training hours are to be confirmed.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements

A valid FLT licence is essential. Candidates must hold a counterbalance licence for at least one of the following:

Pay and Benefits

• £14.65 per hour.


• 12-hour night shifts, Monday to Thursday, 6:00pm - 6:00am.


• The final 8 hours of each shift paid at time and a half, subject to completing a full working week.


• Potential to earn up to 52 paid hours per week, subject to the overtime arrangements and eligibility criteria.


• Annual bonus scheme offering up to £2,000, subject to the scheme's criteria.
