Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is recruiting for a Night Shift Engineering & Maintenance Manager for a pioneering bakery in Manchester. You will stay hands-on on breakdowns, support engineers, and lead the maintenance team across the high-automation site to minimize downtime.

The role focuses on developing PPM schedules, improving reliability, and shaping maintenance strategy for a new state-of-the-art bakery. Previous leadership on night shift and strong mechanical/electrical fault finding are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance on night shift.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to develop and improve PPM systems and maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the night-shift maintenance engineers, prioritising workloads and setting high engineering standards.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical fault finding, breakdowns and repairs across production equipment.
• Take lead during major breakdowns, coordinating resources to minimise downtime.
• Identify recurring faults and address root causes to reduce reactive repairs.
• Review, improve and develop PPM schedules for existing and new bakery equipment.
• Ensure maintenance is scheduled, recorded and executed to plan.
• Move maintenance toward proactive reliability-focused approaches.
• Coach engineers, identify skills gaps and develop the team.
• Provide clear shift handovers and communicate outstanding faults and actions.
