Job summary

IMI plc is seeking a Setter Operator for night shift (Sun–Thu, 10:15pm–6am) to produce components to drawing tolerances and quality specs. The role emphasizes reading drawings, selecting tooling, and proving out programs, with focus on production targets and SHEF safety.

Ideal applicants will have CNC Turn/Mill and Milling experience, Mazatrol or Fanuc control, and a disciplined, detail-oriented approach. Apprenticeship training is advantageous for progression within IMI Thompson Valves.

Qualifications

• Read and understand engineering drawings.
• Set up and operate CNC Turn/Mill and Milling machines to drawing tolerances.
• Prove out programs and manufacture to specifications.
• Carry out 1st off inspection and complete quality documentation.
• Working on night shift: Sunday to Thursday, 10:15pm–6am.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand engineering drawings.
• Select tooling and holding devices from tool sheets.
• Set to the setup sheets and implement amendments.
• Carry out own 1st off inspection and feedback on run times.
• Maintain production targets and SHEF safety.
