Job summary

DPD UK in Leeds is seeking a reliable Class 1 Shunter Driver to take ownership of our night-time yard operations. You will act as the primary conductor of our high-speed supply chain, ensuring precise movements and safe handovers with drivers and the warehouse.

The role involves performing pre-use vehicle inspections, logging trailer transitions, and adapting to fluctuating volume with short-haul tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• A Class 1 LGV Licence (C + E) and a current Driver CPC.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments and demonstrates DP D DNA values (Passion, Respect, Accountability).
• Proactive, physically fit and capable of solving problems before they occur.
• Comfortable with basic digital logging systems.

Responsibilities

• Manoeuvre trailers and tug units safely in a busy yard.
• Log trailer movements and perform pre-use vehicle inspections.
• Coordinate with warehouse operatives to keep loading bays and schedules aligned.
• Assist with inventory tasks or short-haul local runs as needed.
