DPD is seeking a highly skilled Class 1 Shunter to manage nocturnal yard operations, ensuring precise movements of trailers and tug units. You will log trailer transitions, conduct safety inspections, and support the fast-paced supply chain with strong communication between yard and drivers.

The role suits a proactive, physically fit driver who thrives in a dynamic logistics environment and can adapt to occasional short-haul tasks during peak times.

Qualifications

• Class 1 LGV Licence (C+E) and a current Driver CPC.
• Thrive in fast-paced yard environments with high accuracy.
• Strong situational awareness and manual dexterity are essential.

Responsibilities

• Precision Maneuvering: safely navigate trailers and tug units in the yard with precision.
• Systems & Compliance: log trailer transitions and conduct pre-use inspections; uphold Tier 1 standards.
• Operational Performance: liaise with warehouse operatives to optimize loading bays and schedules.
• Dynamic Agility: assist with inventory tasks or short-haul runs when volume fluctuates.
