Job summary

Somerset Larder is seeking a Night Assistant to support the Night Manager with food service, payment handling, and cleaning. You will assist Chefs and Front of House in food prep and serving, while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and waste management procedures.

The role involves working nights, with potential for development within a supportive hospitality team and opportunities to partake in training and apprenticeships.

Qualifications

• Desirable Level 2 Food Safety Qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist Night Manager in all aspects of food service, including taking payment for food and drinks and cleaning equipment as required.
• Assist Chefs and Front of House Manager in the preparation and cooking of food.
• Serve meals, snacks & drinks including taking payments.
• Clean all equipment, crockery & cutlery as required.
• Support, operate and provide service in areas including but not limited to: Serveries, Retail, Hospitality, Functions, Coffee Shops.
• Ensure all food is handled per the Food Safety & Quality Management System.
• Carry out and record checks specified by Site Manager, Catering Manager, Front of House Manager.
• Ensure all waste is removed promptly and placed in correct waste containers per site waste management plan.
• Carry out tasks efficiently considering production or allergen constraints to meet customer orders.
• Participate as a HACCP Team member if required.
• Comply with relevant H&S legislation and Codes of Practice.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training, possibly including overnight travel.
• Ensure materials and packaging are stored correctly and traceability requirements are met.
• Receive deliveries and check supplier invoices; assist in collating traceability information.
• Carry out projects or other tasks as requested by the Site Manager.
• Embrace and participate in the Zero Harm culture.
