Job summary

Smyths Toys is seeking a Night Shift Assistant for their Belfast Forestside store. This temporary role offers competitive pay rates, £12.90 for those over 21 and increased rates after 10pm. As part of a lively team, you’ll be responsible for providing customer service, managing stock, and ensuring a tidy store.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in nursery, software & gaming, or backdoor/warehouse is desirable but not essential.

About The Role

This is a temporary contract, with a rate of pay of £12.90 per hour for over 21 and £11 per hour for under 21, with an enhanced rate after 10pm.
The rate of pay for hours worked between 10pm and 7am is £14.83 for over 21’s and £12.65 for 18-20.

Responsibilities

Provide a high level of customer service

Ascertain customers’ needs and wants

Work as part of a fast paced and dynamic team

Keep the store clean and tidy

Pack shelves and merchandise

Work delivery and complete price changes

Work on the tills

Learn about and keep up to date with our products in order to help customers

The Ideal Candidate

Retail experience in the following areas is highly desirable, but not essential:

Nursery

Software & Gaming

Backdoor/Warehouse

Our stores are open 7 days a week so we need our Sales Assistants to be as flexible as possible.

As you will be joining one of our new stores, you will be expected to work increased hours in order to complete your training prior to your official store opening. Initially, you will be hired on a temporary basis to give you the opportunity to see if you enjoy this fast paced world of retail.
