Job summary

The Wolseley Group is hiring an Apprentice HGV Driver (C+E) for night shifts at the Milton Keynes Distribution Centre. You will deliver stock to branches regionally, operating safely and maintaining high service levels.

Starting salary is £22,000 per year for the apprenticeship, with increases upon completion and a generous benefits package. 45 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday, start times 10:00pm to 4:00am, with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• A reliable, enthusiastic candidate.
• Previous multi-drop driving experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Flexible approach to working night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles up to 44 tonnes.
• Deliver and unload palletised stock to Wolseley branches.
• Open, secure and lock branches as required during deliveries.
• Complete vehicle checks and ensure compliance with transport legislation.
• Maintain accurate delivery and compliance documentation.
• Complete an average of up to 8 branch deliveries per shift.
• Cover delivery routes from Nottingham to the South Coast, including East Anglia, Kent and areas along the Welsh border.
