Job summary

Yugo in Cardiff is seeking a Night Service Assistant to support our student residences, with a focus on safety, security and guest service. You will work nights, monitor the premises and assist students with inquiries while coordinating with the team in a central Cardiff location.

This role requires comfort with computers, a friendly approach, and a willingness to engage in wellbeing and social events that contribute to a positive student community in the evenings.

Qualifications

• Night shift availability and reliability.
• Good computer literacy and a calm, approachable manner.

Responsibilities

• Cover the front desk and respond to student inquiries.
• Assist with check in and check out of rooms.
• Ensure communal areas are clean and well maintained.
• Get involved with wellbeing and social events.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for students.
• Fulfil health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

• 48 hours per week Thursday: 8:00pm to 8:00am, Friday: 8:00pm to 8:00am, Saturday: 8:00pm to 8:00am, Sunday: 8:00pm to 8:00am

We are one of the market leaders in student accommodation and we are looking for a new Night Service Assistant to join our team in right in the heart of Cardiff!

Night Service Assistants at Yugo are a key part of our community-based teams because they oversee the safety, security of our residences during the night and are the first port of call for the students that live with us.

Naturally, our residencies are bustling during the evening so you will need be on the ball and keep a close eye on everyone ensuring our students are safe.

Here’s what you’ll do,

• Cover the front desk and respond to any of the student’s enquiries
• Assist with check in and check out of our student’s rooms
• Ensure the communal areas are clean and tidy and well maintained
• Get involved with our famous wellbeing and social events
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for our students
• Along with the day to day activities within your role, you will also be required to manage your health and safety responsibilities as set out in Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974, where it states that you have a duty to take care of yourself and those around you, by your acts or omissions and to cooperate with your employer on health and safety matters.
• Whatever it takes really to ensure our students and safe, secure and happy!

You’ll need to be computer savvy, switched on and approachable and a of course a night owl. Some experience in security will give you the edge.
