Job summary

Wellburn Care Homes in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Support Worker to assist the person in charge with all aspects of the home’s management, including acting in charge in their absence. You will help train and mentor junior colleagues and foster a warm, friendly atmosphere for residents, relatives, visiting professionals and staff.

You will also work in the under 65s dementia unit, promoting independence for residents and supporting the team.

Responsibilities

• Support the person in charge with all aspects of the home’s management, including taking temporary charge during absence.
• Mentor and train junior colleagues across the home.
• Create a warm, friendly atmosphere and maintain good relations with residents, relatives, visiting professionals and staff.
• Work in the under 65’s dementia unit, promoting independence for residents.
• Role subject to a full enhanced DBS check per safeguarding policy.

About the role:

As a Senior Support Worker your role is to support the person in charge in all aspects of the home’s management, including taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the person in charge. You will assist with the training and mentoring of more junior colleagues in all aspects of their work in the home. In addition you are expected to be proactively involved in creating a warm, friendly atmosphere and maintaining good relations between residents, relatives, visiting professionals and staff.

As a Senior Support Worker you will also be working in our under 65’s dementia unit which will involve you helping support and assist alongside promoting independence to those residents residing in the under 65’s unit.

This role is subject to a full enhanced DBS check, in line with Wellburn Care Homes Safeguarding Policy.
