Job summary

Templeton House Care Home in Ayr offers high‑quality care for up to 69 residents in a warm setting with modern amenities. We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide the team, manage shifts, and ensure safe, person‑centred care with strong communication across families and health professionals.

You will also oversee medications, monitor residents and maintain records, while upholding our care values and standards.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.00 per hour
• Contracted to 38.5 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference everyday to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
