Medivet Watford 24 is seeking a compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the night team. You will work 7 nights on, 21 nights off, assisting with inpatient overnight care, triaging emergencies, and supporting the veterinary team in a fast-paced 24-hour hospital.

You’ll work alongside a Veterinary Surgeon, another RVN and a Veterinary Care Assistant, with on-call support when required. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including CPD, health support and life assurance.

Formación

• RCVS registered as a Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience in emergency, referral, or hospital practice is desirable but not essential.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver high standards of inpatient nursing care to medical, surgical and critical care patients.
• Monitor hospitalised patients overnight and respond to changes in condition.
• Assist with emergency consultations, diagnostics and procedures.
• Administer meds, IV fluids and treatments as prescribed.

Part time working 7 on 21 off, 19.25 average weekly hours. Annual leave, bank holidays and CPD days paid into an annualised compensation package on top of salary.

As an night RVN you will be assist the Veterinary Surgeon with managing and supporting inpatients overnight, triaging emergency phone calls and consultations, assisting with emergency surgeries overnight along with delivering exceptional care always there to our clients and patience whilst maintaining the highest levels of regulatory and operational standards and compliance. You will work alongside a Veterinary Surgeon, another RVN and a Veterinary Care assistant, with support when required from on call colleagues.

Our dedicated team is committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care around the clock, supported by modern equipment including; xray, dental xray, CT, ultrasound, scopes, and ventilator.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our experienced night team. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who enjoys emergency and critical care nursing and thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Working 7 nights on, 21 nights off rota, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding overnight patient care, supporting emergency consultations, and ensuring the smooth running of the hospital during out-of-hours periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of inpatient nursing care to medical, surgical, and critical care patients.
• Monitor and manage hospitalised patients throughout the night, recognising and responding to changes in patient condition.
• Assist veterinary surgeons with emergency consultations, diagnostics, and procedures.
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and patient handovers.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene, infection control, and patient welfare.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, providing compassionate support during emergency situations.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.

About You

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered).
• Previous experience in emergency, referral, or hospital practice is desirable but not essential.
• Confident in inpatient care, anaesthesia, and emergency nursing.
• Calm, organised, and able to work independently overnight.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passionate about delivering exceptional patient and client care.
