Job summary

Northyorks is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Worker for waking nights in Scarborough. You will support individuals with learning disabilities or autism, promote independence, and use PBS techniques to manage behaviours of concern. Previous care experience and an enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience.
• Enhanced DBS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals who exhibit complex and challenging behaviour.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to help individuals apply coping strategies.
• Manage behaviour to enable participation in therapeutic and social activities.
• Be involved in risk assessment and follow risk assessments.
• Use PBS to identify causes of distress and respond per PBS plan.
• Record incidents and contribute to team discussions on incident analysis and strategies.
• Work with other agencies, families and services to ensure quality provision of care.
• Maintain records relating to good practice, health, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Support personal finances and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Encourage health checks and regular health promotion.
• Promote independence in daily activities and general housekeeping.
