Job summary

Shaw Healthcare’s Warmere Court in Yapton, West Sussex, is hiring a Night Nurse to join their dementia, residential and respite care facility.

The role is a 24-hour night shift on a 4-week rota with 12-hour shifts from 19:45 to 08:00, including alternative weekends. The home offers a supportive, patient-centered environment with a focus on high-quality care and staff development.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse with current pin and registration.
• Experience in elderly care, including dementia.
• Knowledge of Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health and care needs; develop care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor responses.
• Provide nursing care including wound and palliative care.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals for personalised care.
• Support daily living activities and provide emotional support.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to CQC guidelines.
• Contribute to policies and train new staff.

Salary: £23.18 - £24.32 per hour
Hours: 24hr nights per week

Job Responsibilities

• Assessing patients health and care needs and developing care plans
• Administering medication and monitoring services users response
• Providing nursing care, including wound care and palliative care
• Liaising with other healthcare professionals to coordinate personalised care
• Supporting service users with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Providing emotional support to service users and their families
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
• Working within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines to ensure high standards of care
• Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures
• Participating in the induction and ongoing training of new staff members

Qualifications and Experience

• NMC Registered Nurse
• Experience working in elderly care, including caring for patients with Alzheimer's and other dementia-related conditions
• Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative
