Job summary

Shaw healthcare (Group) Ltd is recruiting an Activities Champion for Warmere Court, a care home in Yapton, West Sussex, offering dementia, residential and respite care. You will organise and facilitate a diverse range of stimulating activities for residents, form individual activity profiles with care staff, and help enhance wellbeing while ensuring safe use of equipment and accurate records.

The role is 37 hours per week, with shifts Monday to Friday 8am–4pm and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Formulate an activity profile for each resident in liaison with care staff
• Enhance residents' wellbeing by understanding their likes, interests and needs
• Ensure the safe and proper use of all equipment
• Maintain accurate and legible records of residents' activities
• Liaise with the senior nurse on duty regarding outings
• Research prospective outings with attention to access and toileting facilities
• Coordinate with senior care assistants on medical or nursing information regarding residents

Job description

Salary: £13.72 per hour
Hours: 37hrs per week
Shift Times: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm - may be required to work some weekends

The facility specialises in dementia, residential, and respite care, providing a safe and supportive environment.

Job Responsibilities

As an Activity Champion, you will be responsible for organising and facilitating a diverse range of stimulating and engaging activities for our residents. This will include, but not limited to:

• To formulate an activity profile for each individual service user through liaison with care staff, in line with their abilities and preferences
• To enhance the overall wellbeing of residents by understanding their likes, interests and needs
• To ensure the safe and proper use of all equipment.
• To maintain accurate and legible records in respect of service users’ activities.
• To liaise with the senior nurse on duty with regard to outings.
• To research all prospective outings in respect of access and toileting facilities.
• To liaise with senior care assistants in respect of relative medical or nursing care information regarding service users.
